Folks,
It saddens me to report that my friend’s ’73 Dickerson 36 ketch, which he’d painstakingly converted to electric power, is now in pieces at a Hampton, Virginia yard. It had both masts knocked down in circumstances I’d just as soon not relate at the moment.
It’s all repairable, but insurance will probably only cover 2/3rds of the projected expenses. The biggest need is for a mizzenmast, which was snapped in the incident. If anyone can point me in the direction of a used one, it might make all the difference.
Thanks.
John
