    Ahoy All,

Thought you would all like to know that in the midst of these frigid evenings (would you buy a used car from Al Gore?), our DOA is receiving lots of queries from new and old Dickerson owners and aficionados. How about a Boy Scout troop purchasing a D40 as a troop project?–or a 1954 Bill Dickerson Bugeye? Great stuff!

The aim of this thread is to ask all of you “stealth forum readers”, to join us and participate in the discussions. There are some real founts of knowledge here—folks who have loved, owned, and sailed these great yachts from sea to shining sea.

So, keep checking your bilges for ice and let’s help each other anticipate the first great sail of Spring 2010.

    Hey Barry,
Bilges don’t get ice in New Hampshire……..Nothing to check……The whole boat just freezes up solid!

I see you folks south have seen a bit of our “classic New England weather”. Havin’ fun yet?

It would be nice if all the “lurkers” who have a Dickerson Joined The DOA – More conversation; better participation; new ideas….the list is a long one. & we need more folks at The New England gathering this summer!!! Oh, & fun …. I almost forgot the we have FUN part!

Just got back from a little trip to the warmer “tropical” climes. 86 degrees ….sunny…..light breezes…….After I shovel some more snow I think it’s time to start thinkin’ about summer again!

All the best from Central NH!

    Hi Barry,

Right now my winter project is building two new 40+ gal. water tanks. I have had the bladder type tanks ever since I bought Adsequanimitas in 1998. I have had to replace then twice and am tired of not being able to clean them really good. My tanks are under the “V” berth so it has created some interesting fabrication work so they fit properly.

For the first time in several years the creek where I keep my boat has frozen over. Been this way for several weeks now. Movement of the boat with the tide keeps her ice free around the hull for the most part. I’m sure warm weather is coming and we are really looking forward to getting under sail again.

    Cheers

    Bob/Sarah
    S/V Aequanimitas
