The last time I did this someone snatched the boat out from under my nose a few hours after I made the entry on Facebook. Not a problem! :D

The above is the link to the boat. No question at all here as to if there’s a bargain here or not. The only issue I’d have with purchasing this boat would be if, as seems to be indicated, all the damage is above the water line and I can finish off the hull, throw a spit coat on the rest and get her back into the water until I can find a cheap berth to work on the damage and get her seaworthy again.

I’m living on a pension and apartment living is killing me. Need something to keep me occupied and this boat looks perfect.

I’d be interested in hearing thoughts on the matter.

This is a different boat from the one irishmist pointed out last year. Please note – this one’s far more complete.

Does anyone know where I can get drawings and technical information for this boat? If I Pull out Oak, teak, and Mahogany do I have to replace with these materials or can I use their modern equivalents?

You guys are great! Unfortunately the seller has probably sold the boat by now. Not answering the phone or her email’s. I have to say though that in the month or so I have been combing the internet that boat was one of the few that really had me willing to go out on a limb. Not because of the price but rather because it was appealing on so many levels. I just hope the guy who bought it finds his way here.

Thanks again for the document which really got my motor running!

    Truly an amazing boat!

The Calvert Marine Museum on Solomon’s Island has many of the original Ernest Tucker drawings for the 35s. They copied several elevatrions for me as well as the offsets. Contact them to see if they still provide this service. Mr. Tucker’s widow donated the original plans to the museum. The drawings will help if you want to build new and I have not found them that helpful when making repairs. After the design is settled, a lot of what happens when a wooden boat is built is left to the experience and choices of the builder as to how the design is actually executed. So best just to try to replicate what you find using the orginal work as a pttern.

Having done a lot of work on Rainbow (1969 wood) I find it best to stick to the original as much as possible. I’ll take advantage of the technological improvements when I can, mostly in the area of epoxies, paints, etc., but they got it pretty much when they built these boats (except for the cabin corner posts, whcich is a notorious weak spot).

Gee, When It rains it pours…
Here is another Glass 36 on the Eastern shore – bet this one could be had for $2,000 also.
