OEM – yeah. It came with the corner post maintenance kit. Haha. Maybe a little overkill but I was ready!  Now not so scary Barry. I got the corner post and aft wall fitted in today. Tomorrow I hope to finish if the weather holds out.  Roof patch, interior nailer (carlin?) , and glass over everything.

Thought I'd post an “IRIS” fun photo……..
Like they said in the movie  “the graduate”…..”Plastics”….or aluminum.  They don't rot…

    Fun is!

Not scary for you guys.  When we get ready for these kinds of projects, you guys are welcome to come live with us—we'll feed you and everything!

Looking forward to the Boat Show next week.  Any particular toys who want me to check out?

Barry….Have fun at the show.  I went to the Newport show a couple of weeks ago……Lots to see….Some amazing boats in the water.. Lot's of opportunity to buy all sorts of “boat toys”……..

Thanks for the invite to move south to “fix” boats….I was thinking more along the lines if the BVI's….Warmer weather for the old bones.

If weather permits…..IRIS is getting primer next week….A huge  change.

Mike – Just got a good look at your pics, and found the Jan 2013 newslettter That's a LOT of work – shes really looking great! Primer time means that you're finished with all of the woodwork (for now)? What paint/primer will you use? I don't know how you do it in those northern climes – I'm planning to escape the VA cold by the end of November, continue with work in Charleston SC? (my hometown), then spend the spring in the Bahamas.  :D Have to save some fun for next year…

Barry, hope the show is great and you get lots of new boat toys! I'd be there but I'm starting on the starboard side of aft cabin now…

    Hank,
Paint…..Primers are 2 part epoxies by Alexseal – you could use Awlgrip…Over Epoxy/fiberglass These paints ought to give very good durability….Color coats – 2 part Urethane (like Awlcraft)….Made By HMG in the UK…I've had good luck in the past with their paint…..I expect many years with out any “recoat”…..Don't want to revisit this….
    Fun is!

    Thanks Hank,

We had a beautiful day at the show.  (Thursday was glorious–apparently rest of the show days not so much.)  Spent some time with the solar power bubba's (in the end I can't make the case for the investment on “Crew Rest”)  and the folks from Bomar talking about port light gaskets.  Didn't board a single boat, since there was only one there that I liked better than the Dickerson and was on the market for $5.5M.  The highlight–we had a great time visiting with captains and crews from “Aequanimatas”, “Southern Cross”, “Moon Shadow”,  and understand “Frigrate Connie” also there but we missed Parker.
