Former owner with fond memories searching for information on 36′ ketch, built in 1972, sail number 13, last known name Compass Rose, sold in 1980.
We understand fond memories! “Compass Rose” still graces the bay. A quick photo of her in this YouTube video from last October taken from “Eole” enroute to warmer climes. If you would like more info, send me a personal email with identifying info., please.

I believe that I am the current owner of the boat you are looking for, the Compass Rose 1972 36′ ketch. I have owned her since 2002. She currently is tied up next to the Chart House in downtown Annapolis, MD. She has received a lot of TLC since I purchased her. I would be happy to send you current pictures and/or give you an update. And of course if you are ever in Annapolis, I would be happy to give you a tour and if the wind is blowing, take you for a sail.

Happy to see that you are engaged here on the Forum. If you do a YouTube search on “naburtner” you can find several of Neal’s videos as he chronicled his trip south. Really good stuff that makes us all jealous. Hope that you can join us at the Western Shore Roundup 16-17 September and/or next year’s Rendezvous over Father’s Day weekend (details here on the web). Each event is getting better every year. And finally, there will be a contingent of us again attending the US Sailboat Show, so we might see you then.
Nancy—I keep records for the association on boats and their owners. I’m not sure if I have a record of your ownership. I would appreciate that information so that we accurately reflect your “attachment to the family”. Please send me name/period of ownership. Here or private email is fine.
