AmakParticipantHi Everyone,
I just bought a 1964 Dickerson 35 Ketch formerly named “Trilogy” that I have traced to Hamilton, ON. I am wondering if anyone can provide me with information about this boat and any ideas as to where I can find the original plans. It is a beautiful boat and I am hoping to restore it and be sailing next summer.
Thank you,

RainbowKeymasterPlans may be available through the Calvert Marine Museum on Solomon’s Island. Plans are not worth much for repairs, though. I am owned by a wooden D35 and have poked around in 99% of her. “local knowledge is beter”. Send me questions and I will answer what I can.

AmakParticipantThank you very much for your response. I am sorry for the delay, but have beenaway from the boat for some time.
She is in pretty good shape, but I recently noticed some open seams in the hull. What would you recommend to caulk the seam?December 28, 2012 at 12:21 am #1015
Fleet CaptainKeymasterAlex,
As you can deduce from this forum, our Dickerson Owners Association is passionate about preserving our boats and their heritage. To that end, we annually produce the DOA Directory which preserves the historical record of each boat and it’s owners. By keeping it current, we can then in turn provide data on demand to new owners and DOA members.
All of that to say, that we would like your information (as you know it) and in turn we might help you fill in the historical gaps.
For example, we know that “Trilogy” was homeported in Burlington, Ont.
Please send me as much personal and boat information as you can, and in turn, the DOA will try to fill the gaps for you

KittiwakeParticipantAlex,
Congratulations on your hard chine 35. I know that the boat book 50 wooden boats has your boat in it. It says that the D35 hard chine was designed by Charles Whittolz but there is controversy about that as I have also heard that Ted Graves may have designed it. Kittiwake (D32) was designed by Ted Graves and I have plans for her which I bought from the Calvert Maritime museum. If you go to the sailboat data website you will find a nice sail plan of your boat with a great looking set of sails and bow sprit. In the book 50 wooden boats it also says that your model was the “Departure” class of boat. Kittiwake, I believe is the “Simplisima” class and yes….She is simple. The plans from wooden boat are not cheap…$300. I would call Calvert museum and see if they have them. I paid around 30 per sheet for mine, if I remember correctly.
Here are some stats from 50 wooden boats. LWL 27’10” Beam 10.5 Draft 4’3″ to 5′ Displacement 15,300 Sail area sloop 580 Cutter 658 Ketch 705 sq ft
I hope this points you in the right direction…

KittiwakeParticipantAlex,
I was just looking at my plans and it turns out I bought them from the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum….You could try there.
