I am looking to document how Dickerson owners have used their vessels in support of charity or public activities that advance the education or aide the public. Whether it occurred recently or ages ago. Please let me know the event name and context. Any input would be appreciated. Post on the forum or my email is in the Directory for private correspondence. For starters, we know that our Commodore uses “VelAmore” and that “Kairos” was once owned by the “Blue Water Sailing School”. There is another boat that was once the property of a school–I’ll research that.
Would the DOA be interested in providing a scholarship award to a graduating senior of a Cambridge area waterman? I think we could come up with $500 between us. The high school would administer it. It would be a chance to give back to the community, create local interest in our club and provide an opportunity for a youngster it get a head start. Please post your thoughts!
