Was “organizing” the “dickerson shelf” in the basement & found I have two (2) heavy cast bronze Sampson Post Caps that I had cast a few years back…I had a foundry cast these caps when I made a new sampson post…..Mine has been on IRIS for 7 years and looks great.
Caps are cast Aluminum Bronze – a more “gold” looking bronze that does not turn “green”. They turn a nice tan/gold color if not polished…Polished they shine “gold”.
Protects the top of the Sampson post from anchor damage….Easily installed…Chamfer the top of the post & 5200 or epoxy them in place.Sized to fit Dickerson front Sampson posts …3 1/2″ X 3 1/2 “. These weight 2.5 lbs.
I’ve got them on E-bay, but would love to see them on another Dickerson.
$50, plus Mail…. I have pictures or them on a bench and on IRIS…..

I have 1 bronze cap left….
I might have a stanchion base or 2…I've been collecting them.
Dunno…..I have a bunch of “boat stuff I've collected over the years…..
Might have a decent ICOM radio…..
What exactly are you looking for?Lots of non-Dickerson stuff can end up on a Dickerson…..
MikeDecember 17, 2013 at 2:44 pm #1082c-farerParticipantIn a June 2013 post you said you knew someone who had a complete set of new (never out of bag) sails from a circa 1965 ketch. I responded to that post wondering if they were still available. Although I've had my sails vacuum cleaned through St Michael's Sails, I'm not sure how they will look on the boat when the restoration is complete next season. Oh yes, my boat is a 1967 aft cockpit ketch.
I need a bronze end cap for a Sampson post. Also, I need a rigging pin (?) that attaches the pivoting piece to the main gooseneck. The mainsail tack attaches to this pivoting piece. The pin looks like a clevis pin except the end cap is not as thick. It is 1/2″ in diameter and a total length of 3 9/16″; the grip length is 3 3/8″ (inside of cap to center-point of cotter pin hole).
How about a stern and bow pulpit with bases and t-fittings (in good condition with chrome plating intact)? Not today's fittings because quality is lousy. If some other need comes up, I'll use the DOA site and ask around.
