Dickerson Charters

[Fleet Captain]

In a related thread welcoming new “Daruma” owners Doug and Darla, our Administrator reminded us that there was a Dickerson Charter business that florished for a while out of the Dickerson yard. In fact, the 37 ft “tri-cabin” arrangement like “Crew Rest” was perfect for the “two couple” charter market. We chartered both “Running Free” now “Daruma” and “Eclipse” (current status unknown) in the 1980’s. I bet there were other boats in charter fleets (probably in addition to Trappe).

Be interesting to know if any other folks chartered and what boats were available for charter.

When I was managing the fleet, I had 2 center cockpits (Andromeda and Valhalla), a few sloops (Running Free, Eclipse, Moondancer) and a two cutters (Aliyah is the only one that comes to mind). There were eight total so I have forgotten one boat. It would be nice to know where they have ended up.
