I have 1/2 inch thick GPO-3 board – a fiberglass reinforced polyester board that’s tough as nails & sands/paints well for sale. I’ve got 12″ X 14 1/2″ pieces…a bit over a square foot. I have a bunch of them I can’t use them all.
Great to use under cleats, as a mount base for a windlass – as a reinforcement plate under a deck for a windlass; I made stanchion bases to go under the “3 footed” bronze bases so they would not crush into the plywood deck…Make cover plates to go over your chainplates to keep deck water from sitting near chainplates…Use above/below deck for anything you might use plywood for – this stuff does not rot & takes paint great…..Cuts with a carbide blade in a sabre saw & drills with standard twist drills. Bonds well to any Epoxy I tried….unlike starboard sealants will stick to it.
