Hi Gary,
You’ve probably already taken care of the water heater by now, but I just wanted to close the loop. The water heater was installed by Dick Young when he owned the boat. If I recall correctly, he told me about the installation and how he had to force the heater through the opening. I believe the outer case on the heater is plastic, and it would deform enough to go into the opening.
