You might want to check with Paul Rybon, he pretty much lives Dickerson engine rooms, and he has never steered me wrong.

tessanna – The water heater was installed in ’92 / ’93, sorry, can’t remember when. as I recall, when the heater was empty, the insulation on the sides crunched enough to let it go in.
